SERVICESWorking With Men
Many men suffer silently. As men, we don’t tend to reach out for help when we’re struggling. Instead, we retreat inwards, convinced we’ll figure it out on our own. We’ll solve the problems alone. We’ll weather every and any storm solo, often numbing out along the way. This may work for a while, but eventually, the world will descend upon us, test us, and at times, break and overwhelm us. It’s often only when at rock bottom that we men reach out for help.
I’ve been there. That’s why I do what I do as a counsellor, and as a men’s group facilitator. When you work with me, we’ll examine the deep old roots of the patterns and influences that shaped you early in life. We’ll explore the roles you had to play, the expectations you absorbed, and the internal pressures that still drive you. Through slow and steady conversation, we’ll build emotional skills, as well as creating practical, embodied strategies for nervous-system regulation, grounding, boundary building, and confidence. We’ll rebuild together from the roots on up.

Working With Screen Addictions
As a parent of two screen addicted teenagers, and as a long-time high school teacher, I’ve so often felt helpless as I watch so many valuable people lose themselves in the disembodied worlds of the screen. I witness their precious lives pass them by. I see the tragic consequences of their addiction lead to all sorts of mental health challenges. I’ve experienced them firsthand as a father.
I provide steady, non-judgmental support for anyone struggling with screen and technology overuse, whether that’s social media, gaming, pornography, streaming, or constant scrolling. Screen habits are often ways of coping with stress, loneliness, shame, boredom, anxiety, or overwhelm.
Our work looks beneath the behaviour to understand what the screen is doing for you, and what it may be protecting you from. Together we develop practical strategies to reduce compulsive use, strengthen self-regulation, and build healthier daily rhythms. Just as importantly, we address the deeper drivers: emotional patterns, unmet needs, burnout, and long-standing coping styles.
The aim isn’t rigid restriction or shame-based control. It’s restoring choice, focus, and balance, so the technology becomes something you use intentionally, rather than something that stealthily takes more than it gives.
Working with
Eco-Anxiety/ Eco-Grief
I live in the rainforest on a creek in the caldera of an old, extinct volcano. In 2019, I watched the creek dry up into a smoke filled, bed of stones, in the worst bush fire season we’d ever experienced. Three years later, I watched it flood higher than anyone had ever seen, with devastating consequences for many of my neighbours. I had experienced firsthand the grim reality of the Masters in Sustainability Studies I’d completed a decade earlier.
Eco-anxiety and eco-grief are the natural feelings we feel at the quiet but persistent distress about climate change, environmental degradation, and the future of the natural world. This can show up as worry, anger, helplessness, guilt, or a sense of grief for what feels lost or threatened.
In our work together, we make space for these feelings without minimising or catastrophising them. Eco-distress is not irrational. It is a human response to real concerns. We focus on strengthening emotional resilience, regulating anxiety in the body, and clarifying what is within your control.
Alongside processing grief, we explore how to stay engaged without burning out. The aim is not denial or forced optimism, but deep-rooted steadiness, helping you remain grounded, purposeful, and connected while living in a changing world.
